Today on the blog: fresh's Vitamin Nectar Vibrancy Boosting Face Mask. They certainly like to throw in evocative buzzwords into their product names and product descriptions.
According to their website, 'Vitamin Nectar Vibrancy-Boosting Face Mask with a vitamin fruit complex features a concentrated citrus fruit blend of crushed oranges, lemons, and clementines that helps gently refine the appearance of the skin to soften, smooth, and improve clarity. The highly innovative mask is formulated with a proprietary vitamin fruit complex, a potent blend of vitamin C, vitamin E, and vitamin B5; lemon and orange fruit extracts; and revitalizing minerals, to reveal an incredibly vibrant, healthy-looking complexion.' Now, I really thought that I was going to love this deluxe sample (again, gifted by my mum).

Another one from fresh! Yay! This time, it's their Rose deep hydrating face serum.
What a beautifully scented product! I loved applying this. Though, if you are very sensitive, you might find it irritating. Cosdna has several irritants listed for this serum. I have sensitive skin that is acne prone, and luckily it didn't affect me. Another boh botanic heal cream! This time, it's their derme defense eye fill cream. It came as a GWP (gift with purchase), so I did not actually buy it myself.
Why is that, you may ask? As a matter of fact, I, for one, do not believe in eye creams, generally speaking. Is that weird? Another fresh product. This time, it's their black tea age delay instant infusion treatment toner.
I just wish you could smell it. If this were a perfume, I'd bathe in in on the daily. The smell is heavenly, reminiscent of black iced bubble tea with a dash of milk. The texture is very rich, too. In fact I'd use this as a serum rather than a toner due to its beautifully smooth, thick texture that simply glides over your skin. It is milky white in colour and very nourishing. It is supposed to be an anti aging product but really, anyone can benefit from this, I believe. Today's review is Beyond the Remedy's Root Therapy Toner. Is anyone else irritated by that font? I couldn't figure out whether it said remedy or remady, until I realised that it really says remedy but in a really hipstery style.
All of their products seem to have that same signature scent, which is one of the best aromas I have ever smelled. Rather gentle but a bit herbal and medicinal at the same time. Today, a favourite product of mine! It's Fresh's Black Tea Age Delay Firming Serum.
Fresh would ordinarily be a bit out of my price range. My mum in law did however gift me with a number of deluxe samples, which I gratefully accepted. Out of all the skincare products she gave me, this has got to be my favourite. First off, let's talk about the packaging! Hi! Today, we'll be talking about a mystery product, which, according to my Google search, does not exist. I bought this one heavily discounted at my local Watsons. Talking of which, apparently Watsons has been taken over by GS, a local Korean retailer, following which my local store was rebranded and now goes under the name 'Lalavla', complete with a neon pink and white store front, which in my opinion is reminiscent of Superdrug's store branding. Super girly.
Apparently, the name is supposed to be a synergy of lala and blabla. Oh dear. Either way, I was trying to look up more information on this gel but for some reason or the other, I cannot find any information or reviews whatsoever. Zilch. So here's mine! Ah, the beauty of gifts with purchase (GWPs). If you love those, Korea is the country for you. If you love cosmetics (enthusiastic nodding), you'll love Korea simply because every time you go shopping, the staff will give you a few samples or even full sized products just like this one (nodding intensifies).
That being said, there is no guarantee that you will love what you get every time, but it does help you trial new products without having to pay for sample product subscription boxes that seem to be the rage on the Internet everywhere. My not loving this product - VT's Washable UV protector sunscreen - is another instance of those products that I received but didn't love. Yesterday's palette was about Catrice's foundation. Today, let me talk about their concealer palette!
This is a nifty little palette, very light, easy to carry and to pack. I have not been able to go travelling for a long time, so cannot attest to how well it does on a trip, but I would imagine that this palette would do extremely well on the road. I paid about KRW 6,000 at my local Watsons when it was on sale (ca USD 5), a price you really cannot argue with. How did I fare? Ah, Catrice. When I was growing up in Germany, this used to be one of my favourite brands for eyeliner, eye lid primers and powders. Elegant packaging, great price points, products that worked for teenage me. Seeing Catrice again made me feel nostalgic, and their products are still very reasonably priced.
I snapped up a bottle of their HD Liquid Coverage Foundation when it was on sale for KRW6,900 (ca USD 6) at my local Watsons. Super price for 30 ml of product! Did it manage to kick off my holy grail foundation (Dr Jart's BB Dis-A-Pore) off its throne? |
