Today's review is of Trilogy's hydrating mist toner. I got this as a gift with purchase (GWP) when I got their amazing organic rose hip oil - more on that one in a later post (hint: rose hip oil changed my life. no joke).
I used it during the summer months over makeup during the day, mainly to refresh myself. It smells beautifully delicate of rose and lavender but in a medicinal sort of way, if that makes sense.

Today's review is Beyond the Remedy's Root Therapy Toner. Is anyone else irritated by that font? I couldn't figure out whether it said remedy or remady, until I realised that it really says remedy but in a really hipstery style.
All of their products seem to have that same signature scent, which is one of the best aromas I have ever smelled. Rather gentle but a bit herbal and medicinal at the same time. Melvita's Damask Rose Floral Water came to me thanks to my Korean godmother, who stopped by my Korean mum's one day and kindly gifted me with a bunch of Melvita products. Thanks fairy godmother!
This product is a rose water toner, which I used after my acid toner and before any serums or ampoules and the like. It smells beautiful, and the size is decent too — 200ml, which will go a long way towards keeping your skin smelling beautiful and feeling refreshed. Melvita lists the price as EUR14.90, which I feel is a decent price for a rose water toner. When I used this, I would always feel a cooling sensation on my face, and that scent is just absolutely beautiful, too. Was it hydrating, though? To be perfectly honest, it was not the most hydrating toner that I have ever used, nor was I expecting it to. It did hydrate a bit and helped other products sit well on top of it. I always use a lot of other products on top of my toners, so I am not expecting a toner to do all the hydrating — I prefer many thin layers of hydration and nutrients rather than expecting one product alone to do the job. This was a decent enough product for me to keep using until it was used up, and I genuinely, thoroughly, enjoyed it thanks to its scent and cooling sensation. It did not break me out nor irritated my skin. On the other hand, it did not wow me extraordinarily either or make me want to seek it out in particular. I'll keep trying other toners in the meantime. |
