So, here goes. I am a bit of a lip balm snob. Vaseline has never ever done it for me, and nor do any petroleum jelly based products for that matter. I am currently in the process of finishing up that famed Rosebud Salve that everyone and their mother is talking about, though I do not see why it is being hyped so much— but that is a review for another day, once it has been used up (it is on its last legs at the moment).
The lip balms that I like best are very emollient, soothing, and do not exacerbate the pain of cracked lips or those dry lips that can only characterised as lip liner lips — lips that are so dry and irritated, a red line forms around the mouth much like a lip liner would. Thankfully, Burt's Bees lip balms have never disappointed me. I have tried several flavours so far — mango, peppermint, honey, and a few more that I cannot recall right now. They are decently moisturising, and if on sale, the price is decent enough too. Truth be told, they are not my all time favourite lip balm though. That honour goes to Nivea's lip butters in those adorable little tins. Wish I could get them here in Korea, alas! — they are not available here as far I can see. Back to Burt's Bees. These babies are delicious and decently moisturising, and are of decent enough quality to keep repurchasing. In the meantime, the hunt for my holy grail lip balm continues.
