This battered tube really tells you how much I enjoyed using this cream! It is boh's Derma Intensive Panthenol Cream, I bought it on a whim for around KRW 20,000 at Olive Young when it was on sale. Texture wise, this is a very thick and emollient type of product, and comes out of the tube a viscous looking, whitish paste. Personally, this is a cream I used in the evening rather than morning, due to its gooey nature. I tend to use water- and silicone based foundations in the daytime, and therefore would refrain from using it under make-up. But you do you! If you like to wear thick creams under make-up to give you that glowy, dewy look of freshly polished apples, by all means give it a try, because this cream is probably great under cream and stick foundations or mattifying base products. In terms of efficacy, this cream really helped calm my skin down when I was having breakouts or sensitized skin, or when my skin was dull or tired looking. Overall, in my opinion, its main characteristic lies in being soothing and calming. It also sealed in any products that were applied before it. It did not exacerbate any active breakouts for me, nor did it promote them, even though it contains several acne triggers ranked as 4 (on a scale of 0 to 5, 5 being the highest), according to cosDNA.
What it does NOT do well, in my opinion, is to moisturise skin and to maintain its hydration levels. Indeed, I found that on some occasions when I was being lazy and neglected to pamper my skin with the usual dose of hydrating serums and essences, this cream would leave my skin somewhat dehydrated, On those few occasions when I only cleansed, toned, then applied this cream, my skin felt calmed down but not refreshed, and my expression lines were more visible. For this reason, I would personally recommend that you use hydrating products prior to applying this, to reap its maximum benefits. If you are already using a multi-step or even a Korean skin care routine, this would complement it nicely as a last step, to make sure that you get the most of all your lotions and potions. However, if you are looking for a one step product that does it all, this may not be your holy grail just yet, as it excels at soothing alone.
