An A.H.C. eye cream! Funny sounding slogan aside (eye cream... for face? I mean, that's where our eyes usually are...), this was my first foray into the brand. Recently, they were all over my YouTube as almost all videos were preluded by an A.H.C. advertisement with Anne Hathaway. I had never really been keen on trying their offerings though, as they seem to be geared towards an age bracket that is slightly older than myself. Judging from their advertising, I'd say they're targeting the 35-50 year olds. But I digress. This deluxe sample was handed to me as a gift with purchase at then Watsons, now lalavla. My first impression was that this was meant for an older woman. The packaging is a bit dated in my mind - kind of reminiscent of Estee Lauder in the 80s and 90s.
The scent, too, is very strong and powdery-flowery, which is something you usually notice in cosmetics aimed at older people. As we age, we use our sense of smell, which is apparently a good enough reason for lots of cosmetics companies to start throwing lots of fragrance into their lotions and potions. For me personally, the scent put me off. The texture, too, was extremely rich and felt heavy on my skin. I must say though that I had good results and my eye area felt a bit plush and more hydrated after using it, though the results were not earth shatteringly good. Generally speaking, I do not use eye creams unless they are gifted to me, as I personally believe that eye creams are just so much marketing hype and hocus pocus. This brand offering did not serve to change my mind. To conclude, it was a nice cream and it did what it was supposed to - however, the texture and fragrance were not to my personal liking. If you are looking for a rich cream and don't mind fragrance, I'd still check it out though.
